Most Reverend Dr. Paul Kwabena Boafo, the Presiding Bishop of Methodist Church Ghana, has called on the country’s political leaders and their followers to be circumspect in their utterances ahead of the 2024 general elections.
He said “My message to our political leaders and their followers is to be circumspect in their utterances.
They should address issues instead of resorting to insults, intemperate language, and inflaming passions for conflict.
We may belong to different political parties but that does not make us enemies. We are first Ghanaians with a common destiny.”
Delivering his Christmas and New Year message to Ghanaians in Accra, he urged his compatriots to take advantage of Christmas and New Year celebrations to think, speak, live, and work towards peace before, during, and after the general elections.
The Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church Ghana also called on his countrymen and women to pray for the victory of Ghana.
Most Reverend Dr. Boafo said, “Let’s us rejoice that the light of Christ promises to banish our darkness. May it brighten our spirits and fill our hearts always.

May it light our economic and political way in the coming year. May this light of the Christ-Child illuminate our journey in the new year.
May 2024 bring us wholeness, justice, and peace throughout the nation. May the occasion of Christmas fill our hearts and souls with more zeal and hope towards life.”
