UPF Ghana Extends Condolences to Nation After Tragic Helicopter Crash

The Universal Peace Federation (UPF) Ghana Chapter has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic helicopter crash that occurred in the Obuasi District of the Ashanti Region on August 6, 2025, claiming eight lives, including prominent government officials.
In a statement, UPF Ghana Chairman, Hon. Frank Fuseini Adongo, on behalf of the entire membership, conveyed heartfelt condolences to the Government and people of Ghana during this period of national mourning.
The crash claimed the lives of Defence Minister Hon. Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Environment Minister Hon. Dr. Alhaji Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, Deputy National Security Coordinator Alhaji Muniru Mohammed, NDC Vice-Chairman Mr. Samuel Sarpong, former parliamentary candidate Mr. Samuel Aboagye, Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Twum Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah.

Hon. Adongo noted that UPF echoes the sentiments of the United Nations in Ghana, stressing that the loss is felt internationally. He called for prayers for the eternal rest of the departed and strength for their families, President John Dramani Mahama, and all Ghanaians.
He further pledged that UPF Ghana would continue to work towards national healing and advance the peace, environmental, and security causes championed by the victims.
