MobileMoney LTD Responds to Healwithdiana’s Viral TikTok Post, Calls for Fraud Reports on 419
MobileMoney LTD says investigation shows customer shared sensitive security details with fraudster prior to unauthorised transactions.

MobileMoney LTD has responded to a viral TikTok video posted by the handle “HealwithDiana | Nervous System” alleging a Mobile Money (MoMo) fraud incident, stating that its internal investigations point to the disclosure of sensitive security information by the affected customer.
In a press release signed by the Head of Legal and Reputation Management, Paapa Osei, and the Manager of Communications and Stakeholder Management, Afua Serwaa Asafo-Adjei, the company clarified that the fraudulent transactions occurred after the customer identified as the mother of the content creator engaged in a phone call with an individual later confirmed to be a fraudster.
According to the company, during the call the customer disclosed critical security credentials, including her MoMo App Registration One-Time Password (OTP), MoMo PIN, and Login OTP.
These details enabled the fraudster to register the wallet on a separate device and carry out unauthorised transactions.
MobileMoney LTD stressed that it never requests customers’ OTPs, PINs, or personal security codes under any circumstances. The company noted that every security notification sent to users includes a warning not to share such information with anyone.
Following the incident, the number used by the fraudster has been blocked and blacklisted on the MoMo platform and suspended from voice services. The company said it continues to collaborate with relevant partners and law enforcement authorities as investigations proceed.
The company urged customers to remain vigilant and report suspected fraud immediately through the MTN 419 Helpline.
“Customer safety remains our highest priority,” the statement said, adding that while individuals have the right to share their experiences, public commentary on financial services should be guided by verified facts to prevent misinformation.
