Former Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament, Sarah Adwoa Safo, is reportedly receiving medical treatment after gunmen allegedly opened fire on her vehicle near the residence of her younger brother, Israel Kwadwo Safo.
The incident is said to have occurred on Sunday at the residence of Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena, where he was reportedly meeting supporters as part of efforts to install him as the successor to his late father, Apostle Emeritus Kwadwo Safo.
According to information available to MydailyNewsOnline , officers from the Dome District Command were alerted and swiftly deployed to the scene to restore calm and provide security as tensions escalated.
Eyewitnesses claim that Adwoa Safo was in the area when armed men, allegedly acting on the instructions of Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena, opened fire on her vehicle. The attackers reportedly fired about 15 rounds of ammunition, with one bullet said to have grazed the former legislator near her neck.
She was immediately rushed to a medical facility, where she is currently receiving treatment. Sources close to her say she is in stable condition.

The alleged shooting comes amid escalating tensions within the family over the succession of the late Apostle Emeritus Kwadwo Safo. The leadership transition has already sparked legal disputes, with some relatives contesting attempts to install Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena as the next leader of the Kristo Asafo Mission.
As of the time of filing this report, the Ghana Police Service had not issued an official statement on the incident. Investigations are expected to determine the circumstances surrounding the alleged shooting and identify those responsible.
