MTN Ghana has received two awards at the 2026 National PR and Communications Excellence Awards, recognising its achievements in corporate communication, stakeholder engagement and environmental sustainability.
The telecommunications company was named PR Organisation of the Year – Telecommunications and also won the Best in Environment and Climate Change Communications award.
The recognition highlights MTN Ghana’s efforts to maintain effective communication with customers, employees, business partners and communities, while promoting environmental awareness and responsible business practices.
The PR Organisation of the Year award recognises the company’s approach to stakeholder engagement and its commitment to delivering clear, consistent and effective communication.
The environmental communication award acknowledges MTN Ghana’s work in raising awareness about climate change, encouraging environmental responsibility and engaging stakeholders on sustainability issues.
Speaking on the achievement, MTN Ghana’s Acting Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer, Nana Kofi Asare, said the awards reflected the company’s commitment to maintaining high standards in communication and environmental sustainability.
“Collectively, these awards reaffirm MTN Ghana’s dedication to upholding high standards in communication practice and environmental sustainability, as well as our ongoing efforts to deepen trust, enhance engagement and shape meaningful connections with our customers, employees, partners and communities,” he said.
He noted that effective communication remained important to building trust and maintaining strong relationships with the company’s stakeholders.
The Acting Senior Manager for Corporate Communications at MTN Ghana, Efua Falconer, also welcomed the recognition, saying the company had consistently focused on communicating its activities in ways that were clear, relatable and meaningful.
“We have remained intentional about telling MTN’s story with clarity, empathy and purpose, whether engaging our customers, enabling internal teams or advancing our environmental sustainability agenda,” she said.
Ms Falconer described the awards as both an achievement and a motivation for the company to continue improving its communication practices.
“This achievement is both an affirmation and a call to do more. It inspires us to raise the bar, deepen trust and build even more meaningful connections,” she added.
The awards formed part of the National PR Summit, held at the Capital View Hotel in Koforidua from October 22 to 24, 2026.
The summit brought together public relations professionals from across Ghana to share ideas, discuss developments in the industry and recognise organisations and individuals making significant contributions to the profession.
Held under the theme “Public Relations and Leadership Readiness,” the event also provided a platform for discussions on the role of effective communication in leadership, organisational development and public engagement.
MTN Ghana’s double recognition adds to its achievements in corporate communication and sustainability, reflecting its continued focus on stakeholder relationships and responsible business practices.
