Ambassador Robert P. Jackson met with World Boxing Organization (WBO) Interim Super Bantamweight champion Isaac Dogboe at the U.S. Embassy in Accra on February 16. Dogboe was accompanied by his father, Paul Dogboe, Dr. Donald Cog Senanu Agumenu, Ellis Quashigah, Nana Ama Eson-Mensah, and Maurice Quansah.
During the meeting, the Ambassador praised the Ghanaian boxing champion as “a role model for all youth in Ghana and the United States.” He congratulated Dogboe for his role as a Global Ambassador for Ghana, advocating for youth empowerment, education, and raising awareness against crime, drug trafficking, and other societal issues. “While not every youth can become a boxing champion, you have inspired them to pursue excellence in their fields through education and perseverance,” he stated.
The Ambassador extended his best wishes to Dogboe for his upcoming fight in Las Vegas, Nevada, against Jessie Magdaleno for the WBO Junior Featherweight title. Dogboe and his delegation expressed their honor in being associated with the United States and emphasized their commitment to strengthening the partnership between the two nations based on shared values.
