According to the Palestinian media representative at the Rafah border crossing to Egypt, around 220 Germans would be able to leave the besieged Gaza Strip on Tuesday.

A total of 224 names had been included on a list of German citizens allowed to leave. Many of those people were labelled as dual nationals.

A total of around 370 people, including Swedes, Australians, Portuguese, and French nationals, were said to be eligible to leave the territory.

The Egyptian press centre in Cairo said on Monday that all foreign nationals wishing to leave the Gaza Strip should soon have done so.

At the beginning of the month, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry announced that a total of around 7,000 people from 60 countries were involved. However, it remained unclear whether these included Palestinian nationals with a second passport. It was also unclear how many of them have decided to stay in the Gaza Strip.

Hundreds of foreigners and Palestinians with second passports were able to leave the sealed-off coastal area around three weeks ago – the first time that had been allowed since the start of the war.
