Berlin (dpa) – The 2024-25 Bundesliga season will start on August 23, 2024, the German Football League (DFL) said on Friday.
The schedule was revealed after the executive committees of the DFL and the German Football Federation (DFB) approved the key dates for the upcoming season.
The Bundesliga will pause for the winter break after matchday 15 on December 20-22 and will resume on January 10, 2025. The final league matchday is set for May 17, 2025.
The season opener German Supercup, which pits the reigning Bundesliga champions against the German Cup winners from the previous season, will take place on August 17, 2024.
The Cup starts on the same weekend (August 16-19, 2024), but the two Supercup participants will play their first-round matches on August 27-28, 2024. The Cup final will be held on May 24, 2025, as per tradition at the Olympic stadium in Berlin.
Among other key dates are the start of the second division on August 2-4, 2024, and the Bundesliga relegation play-offs on May 22-23, 2025 (first-leg) and on May 26-27 (second-leg).
