Leverkusen winger Paulinho moves to Brazil’s Atletico Mineiro on loan
Brazilian winger Paulinho will return to his home country after current club Bayer Leverkusen agreed on a loan deal with first-division side Atletico Mineiro.
The player will stay with Atletico until the end of his contract in June 2023, Leverkusen said on Thursday.
Paulinho moved to the German club from Vasco da Gama in 2018, but since then only made 79 appearances for Leverkusen due to serious injuries including a torn cruciate.

“Both sides definitely imagined the partnership over the past few years would turn out differently,” Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes said.
Atletico finished the season in Brazil in 10th, securing a spot in the Copa Sudamericana.
