English striker of Ghanaian descent, Danny Welbeck has signed a new deal to extend his stay at Brighton and Hove Albion.

The representatives of the experienced forward and officials of the English Premier League club have been in talks over a contract extension deal in the last couple of weeks.

After reaching an agreement, Danny Welbeck signed a deal to extend his stay at Brighton for two more years.

“We are delighted to announce that Danny Welbeck has signed a new contract that runs until June 2024,” an official club statement from Brighton & Hove Albion has said.

Commenting on the deal, Brighton manager Graham Potter says it was the right call to retain the services of the experienced attacker.

“Danny has been brilliant for us from the moment he arrived. He became a part of the group quickly and has become a real leader.

“He uses his experience to help the group and is a great role model for the younger players,” the Brighton manager said as quoted on the Brighton website.
