As a native of Gomoa Takyiman in the Gomoa West district of the central region, Blessed Godsbrain Smart ( popularly known on radio as Captain Smart ) attended the Apam Secondary School, in Apam also in the Gomoa West district of the central region after completing Junior Secondary School in Gomoa Takyiman.
Captain Smart began his broadcasting career with Winneba-based Radio Windy Bay in the late year 90’s when he left for the Ashanti regional capital in the early year 2,000.
Captain Smart continued his radio broadcasting with Kessewa Radio which was then situated within the Iron Birds Building at Anloga junction in Kumasi.
Due to his questionable character and attitude, he could not stay long so he proceeded to Asawasi-based Otec fm to continue for some period and left for Fox fm in the mid-year 2000.
Whiles in Fox fm, when he was then the host of the morning show program, Captain Smart took the opportunity to defraud many people under the pretext of getting them passports, visas, securing them jobs within and abroad.
He became wanted by the police after the victims he defrauded had lodged criminal cases against him.
He was playing hide and seek with the police after he was finally arrested by the Zongo police near the Prempeh Assembly Hall in Kumasi and was remanded in the Kumasi Central Prisons where he was later released after managing to pay the monies he collected from the victims.
He has already been sacked by his Fox fm employer after returning from remand.
He stayed in Kumasi Asafo for a while where he aligned himself to then the Kumasi Asafo chief.
Captain Smart was employed in the Adom fm division of the Multimedia Group Limited as a co-morning show program host in 2013 where he put his employers into many troubles with his ” Fabewoso ” segment of the morning show program which resulted in rendering the management of Multimedia Group Limited into several court cases which nearly sent the multimedia group into bankrupt.
While in Adom fm division of the Multimedia Group Limited, Captain Smart went to collect a huge amount of money from the management of EIB media network in Accra under the pretext of hosting the morning show program at Kasapa fm which was then situated in Adabraka.
The management of Multimedia Group Limited went to pay back the money Captain Smart collected from the EIB media network to let sleeping dogs lie.
Captain Smart upon all this embarrassment and his questionable character left for the Angel Broadcasting Network with its Lapaz based in Accra. He worked as a co-morning show program host until he was fired by his employer after making a series of baseless and unfounded allegations against the Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo-led NPP government over too much borrowing from the advanced countries which has yielded no better results.
He later went to Media General ( Onua tv / fm ) division as the morning show program host until date.
Captain Smart is described by many as a fraudster, an impostor and a blackmailer.
