NMAG Shares Nation’s Grief Over Helicopter Crash Victims
New Media Association of Ghana extends heartfelt condolences to families, government, and the nation following the loss of eight prominent Ghanaians in a helicopter crash

The New Media Association of Ghana (NMAG) has joined the nation in mourning the eight Ghanaians who lost their lives in the tragic helicopter crash on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
The victims have been identified as: Minister for Defence, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah; Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed; Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator, Alhaji Muniru Mohammed Limuna; Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Samuel Sarpong; Government Technical Advisor, Mr. Samuel Aboagye; Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala; Flying Officer Manaen Kwabena Twum Ampadu; and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah.

In a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, Adeyemi Adebayo, NMAG described their passing as not only a devastating blow to their families but also a national tragedy that has robbed Ghana of committed patriots and leaders.
“We share in your grief and pray for comfort, strength, and peace during this difficult time. May the souls of our departed compatriots rest in perfect peace,” the statement read.
The crash, which occurred while the officials were on duty, has plunged the nation into a period of mourning, with tributes pouring in from across various sectors of society.
