Corporate Giants Honoured at 2025 Ghana Brands Awards

Ghana’s leading brands were on Saturday, August 23, celebrated at the 2025 Ghana Corporate Brands Awards, with manufacturing giants, pharmaceutical leaders, and industrial gas suppliers all receiving recognition for their contribution to the economy.
The glamorous event, hosted at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel, honoured Bel Beverages (Manufacturing Brand of the Year), Indo-Industries Ghana Ltd (Industrial Gas Company of the Year), B5 Plus (Steel Manufacturing Brand of the Year), and Hale Pharmacy’s CEO, Mr. Kwame Preko, among others.
According to Mr. Seth Jojo Danso Asante, Events Director for Maven Communications, winners were selected through a rigorous process based on product quality, corporate social responsibility, market influence, and brand messaging effectiveness.
He noted that the platform was essential for elevating overlooked sectors, citing Indo Gas as an example. “This company needs to be put out there because the kind of service they are providing is exceptional and also essential,” he said.
The ceremony also highlighted pressing business challenges, with Mr. Asante identifying currency instability as the greatest obstacle. “If our currency can be held stable, that will do companies great good,” he remarked, though he praised the government for addressing the power crisis.
Held under the theme “Mastering the Future: Recognizing Excellence through Strategic Branding and Leadership,” the awards reaffirmed the role of strong leadership and strategic branding in driving corporate growth and positioning Ghanaian businesses for the global stage.
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ho West, Mr. Francis Proferr Dusey underscored the importance or recognizing the contributions of businesses towards the development of the Ghanaian economy.
He mentioned that that the awards program was designed to be inclusive and engaging, allowing industry professionals and the public to contribute to recognizing and selecting outstanding business achievements.
He detailed that industry experts rigorously evaluated award candidates through a thorough market survey. This survey was conducted among professionals and was representative of middle- and high-income earners.
Mr. Francis Proferr Dusey emphasized that the winners were evaluated against several criteria, including Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Brand Consistency, Innovation and Technology Adoption, Brand Appeal and Goodwill, Leadership and Governance, Product/Service Quality, and Market Impact and Growth.
In attendance were the Greater Accra Regional Minister with his delegation, Professor Joshua Alabi, Board Chairman of GCB Bank (represented by Prof. Mrs Goski Alabi, Acting Vice Chancellor of Accra Metropolitan University), Madam Esther A.N. Cobbah, President of the Institute of Public Relations Ghana and founder of Stratcomm Africa, Abdul Razak Baba, Deputy CEO of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), Mark Hayford, Managing Director of White Sands Travel Consult, and Mr. Evans Hockey, Secretary to the GCBA Awarding Board.
Also present were Dr. Maxwell Gakpo, Dean and Acting Pro Vice Chancellor of Accra Metropolitan University, Mr. Abdul-Kadiri Aliou of GIPC, as well as traditional rulers including chiefs and queen mothers.
