Afro-Arab Group Leads Youth Employment with Landmark EV Initiative

The Afro Arab Group, in partnership with Chinese investors, has announced a landmark initiative to introduce 1,000 electric vehicles (EVs) under a work-and-pay model, marking a major push to support youth employment and advance Ghana’s green transition agenda.
The initiative seeks to empower young people across the country by providing them with eco-friendly vehicles that will enable them to earn income while contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable transportation ecosystem.
Ambassador Alhaji Salamu Amadu, Youth Ambassador for Peace and Development and Chairman of the Afro Arab Group, is leading this transformative effort as part of his broader commitment to green finance, sustainable energy, and climate-friendly economic empowerment. He has consistently demonstrated that he has the youth at heart.
According to the Afro Arab Group, the deployment of the 1,000 EVs will directly support the government’s vision for a 24-hour economy, lower carbon emissions in the transport sector, and create meaningful job opportunities for the youth while reducing Ghana’s reliance on fossil fuels.
The project also aligns with national goals for renewable energy adoption, strengthening the country’s commitment to clean energy solutions and showcasing the role of private-sector innovation in climate action.
This partnership represents one of the largest private-sector-led EV mobility initiatives in Ghana, highlighting the power of collaboration between Ghanaian entrepreneurship and international investment to drive sustainable development and long-term economic growth.
