Gomoa Gyaman SHS Inaugurates Reconstituted Board
Newly Reconstituted Board of Governors Set to Strengthen Governance and Drive Development at Gomoa Gyaman SHS

The Gomoa Gyaman Senior High School in the Central Region has inaugurated a newly reconstituted Board of Governors as part of efforts to strengthen governance and enhance the overall development of the institution.
The inaugural ceremony, held on the school’s campus, brought together education stakeholders, traditional leaders, representatives from the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), alumni, and community members.
The reconstituted board is expected to provide strategic direction, ensure accountability, and support the school in achieving its academic and infrastructural goals.
In his welcome address, the Headmaster, Mr. William Bart-Plange, expressed optimism that the new board would help reposition Gomoa Gyaman SHS for accelerated growth.

He highlighted key areas requiring urgent attention, including the improvement of teaching and learning materials, the expansion of classroom blocks, and the fostering of a disciplined academic environment.
A representative from the Ghana Education Service (GES) commended the school for its commitment to proper governance structures. He underscored the important role school boards play in ensuring transparency and supporting administrators to implement key educational policies.
The newly inaugurated board thanked the appointing authorities for the confidence reposed in its members. They pledged their readiness to work collaboratively with school management and the community to enhance academic performance and improve welfare conditions for both staff and students.

The board also noted that it would prioritize infrastructure development, resource mobilization, and the strengthening of partnerships with stakeholders to help the school achieve its vision.

Traditional leaders from the Gomoa Traditional Area expressed support for the school’s progress, encouraging the board to champion initiatives that would uplift the image of Gomoa Gyaman SHS.
The ceremony concluded with a call for all stakeholders to remain united and committed to advancing education in the community as the new board begins its tenure.
