Growing up as the fourth of six children, Essi’s upbringing was marked by responsibility and resilience. Her educational journey began at Ekumfi Kokodo D A Primary School and continued at SABs Preparatory School in Mankessim. She later attended Methodist Senior High School in Saltpond, where she further developed her leadership abilities and passion for music. Determined to pursue higher education, she enrolled at Central University in Accra for her undergraduate studies before advancing to Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology KNUST in Kumasi, where she obtained a Master’s degree in Finance.

Her musical journey started in church at a young age, where she actively participated in singing and gradually took on leadership roles. Her entry into the recorded music space began with the release of her debut single M’aseda on July 1, 2024.
