The UOSA 2006 Batch has marked its 20th Anniversary celebration with a remarkable and impactful event aimed at reconnecting old students, honoring dedicated teachers, and contributing towards the development and restoration of their alma mater.
The memorable occasion brought together members of the batch, school authorities, former teachers, students, and invited guests in an atmosphere filled with nostalgia, appreciation, unity, and renewed commitment towards the growth of the institution.
The celebration commenced with the arrival of guests and members at Poly Junction, where a brief meet-and-greet session was organized. The gathering created an opportunity for old students to reconnect, interact, and relive cherished memories from their days in school after two decades of separation.
The atmosphere was filled with excitement and emotion as members shared personal experiences, reflected on their educational journey, and appreciated how far life had taken them since completing school.
Following the interaction session, participants held a solemn prayer and praise gathering to thank God for His guidance, protection, and blessings throughout the years. Members expressed gratitude for life, growth, and the opportunity to reunite once again as one family.
After the opening activities, the alumni proceeded to the school premises where the main anniversary program was held.
Upon arrival, a general school assembly was organized to officially welcome the alumni back to campus. Students and staff gathered to witness the historic occasion as school authorities and representatives of the UOSA 2006 Batch delivered keynote and milestone addresses.
In his address, a representative of the alumni reflected on the sacrifices, struggles, and unforgettable experiences shared by members during their school days. He noted that the anniversary was not only a celebration of friendship and memories, but also a call to responsibility and service towards the institution that played a major role in shaping their future.
“Twenty years ago, we walked through these same compounds as students with dreams and ambitions. Today, we have returned not just to celebrate our journey, but to give back to the institution that contributed immensely to our lives. We believe this school deserves better infrastructure, support, and attention from all old students,” he stated.
He further called on all alumni of the institution, both home and abroad, to unite and contribute towards rebuilding and restoring the school to a standard that future generations would be proud of.
“This school made us who we are today. The responsibility to restore its glory lies on all of us. Together, we can transform the environment and create better opportunities for the current and future students,” he added.
The Head of School, in his remarks, expressed profound appreciation to the UOSA 2006 Batch for remembering the institution and taking practical steps to support academic activities.
According to him, the school continues to face several infrastructural and logistical challenges, and support from old students remains very important in improving teaching and learning conditions.
“We are highly grateful to the UOSA 2006 Batch for this thoughtful gesture. Their support demonstrates the true spirit of loyalty and commitment to one’s alma mater. The desks donated today will greatly help both students and teachers by improving classroom conditions,” he said.
One of the major highlights of the anniversary celebration was the official presentation and handover of 30 modern desks donated by the UOSA 2006 Batch to the school.
The donation formed part of the batch’s contribution towards improving the learning environment and addressing some of the furniture challenges confronting the school. The presentation was met with appreciation from both staff and students, who described the gesture as timely and impactful.
Members of the alumni indicated that the donation was only the beginning of a broader vision to support the institution through developmental projects and other interventions in the coming years.
The event also featured a special Teachers’ Recognition session to honor individuals who contributed significantly to the academic and moral upbringing of students over the years.
During the recognition segment, the Headmaster, selected teachers, and the school driver were specially honored for their dedication, hard work, sacrifices, and years of committed service to the institution.
Some alumni members emotionally recounted how certain teachers positively impacted their lives through discipline, mentorship, and encouragement during their formative years in school.
A representative of the batch noted that recognizing teachers was necessary because many educators often sacrifice immensely to shape the future of students without receiving the appreciation they truly deserve.
“Our teachers played a critical role in our success stories. Some of the values, discipline, and principles we carry today were instilled in us by these great men and women. Honoring them today is our own way of saying thank you,” he said.
As part of the anniversary activities, members embarked on an exhibition walk around the school compound to revisit familiar places and inspect the current condition of facilities and infrastructure.
The walk brought back old memories as alumni visited classrooms, assembly grounds, and other significant areas that formed part of their student life many years ago. The exercise also allowed members to assess some of the pressing needs of the school and discuss possible ways of supporting future developmental projects.
The anniversary further created an avenue for networking and social interaction among members, many of whom had not seen each other in several years. The gathering strengthened old bonds, revived friendships, and reinforced the spirit of togetherness among the UOSA 2006 Batch.
The celebration eventually ended with closing remarks, expressions of appreciation, and group photography sessions to capture memorable moments of the milestone occasion.
As part of its long-term vision, the UOSA 2006 Batch used the celebration to make a passionate appeal to all old students of the institution to come together in unity and contribute towards the facelift and restoration of the school.
According to the group, restoring the institution to its former standard of excellence would require collective effort, commitment, and continuous support from all stakeholders and alumni.
Members emphasized that investing in the school would not only benefit current students but also preserve the legacy and reputation of the institution for future generations.
The UOSA 2006 Batch reiterated its commitment to remaining actively involved in initiatives that would promote educational development, infrastructure improvement, and student welfare within the school.
The 20th Anniversary celebration therefore served not only as a reunion of old classmates, but also as a symbol of gratitude, responsibility, unity, and the importance of giving back to society through education.
With renewed determination and a shared vision, members of the batch expressed confidence that through collaboration and continuous support, the school can once again rise to greater heights and reclaim its standard of excellence.
