President John Dramani Mahama has reorganised the National Security Council Secretariat, making key appointments and reassignments as part of efforts to strengthen the country’s security architecture.
The changes, announced by the Presidency on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, take immediate effect and affect senior positions within the National Security Council Secretariat and the Office of the National Security Advisor.
Under the new arrangement, former Chief of Army Staff Major General William Ayamdo (Rtd.) has been appointed Deputy National Security Coordinator in charge of Operations.
Former National Security Coordinator Yaw Donkor has also been appointed Director of Intelligence and Research at the Office of the National Security Advisor.
Adamu Saaka has been named Director of Logistics and Transport, while Faustina Effah-Boadi takes over as Officer in Charge of the Human Security Department.
Retired Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Peter Ndekugri has also been appointed Officer in Charge of the Special Investigations Unit.
Meanwhile, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Alhassan Osman has been reassigned to the Ghana Police Service for further deployment.
According to the Presidency, the appointments and reassignments form part of a broader reorganisation intended to strengthen the operations of the National Security Council Secretariat.
All the changes take immediate effect.
