The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Officer of the Okaikwei North Municipality in the Greater Accra Region, Christian Tetteh Badger, has been accused of unlawfully marking property owned by the Nii Boiman Chief, Nii Ayi Mensah Okropong II
The MCE stands accused of putting the law into his own hands and executing such an illegal exercise.
Speaking with journalists, the Chief Of Nii Boiman, Nii Ayi Mensah Okropong II described the exercise by the MCE and his team as unnecessary.
“The MCE’s action was something one can described as an autocratic decision even though he serves as a representative of President John Dramani Mahama in the municipality,” he disclosed.
The said marked property , the Chief said belong to him with authentic documents that proves his legal ownership and therefore regarded the move by the MCE as unlawful.
“The MCE during his illegal exercise claimed it was an order from above, but i was told upon an official visit to the Jubilee House that Mr. Badger was never authorized to embark on such exercise, ” he chief stated.
Nii Okropong further alledged that the MCE has ignored his task as a government appointee and rather sponsored unlawful traditional leaders within the area for his selfish interest.
He underscored the need for President John Dramani Mahama and the local government minister to deal with Mr. Badger for abandoning his responsibilities and rather harass people of their legally acquired properties.
According to the chief, the MCE’s action clearly shows how currently making the National Democratic Congress (NDC) current administration led by President John Dramani Mahama unattractive to people within the area.
