Seshime Akoe Djiegbor has been elected Deputy Constituency Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Anyaa-Sowutuom after securing 100 votes in the party’s internal elections held on Saturday, October 24, 2026.
Djiegbor emerged victorious in a keenly contested four-candidate race, defeating Jerod Doetse Kabu, who polled 89 votes, Daniel Otu Atta Duncan with 44 votes, and Mawuena David Amedume, who obtained 34 votes.
Her election places her in the constituency’s youth leadership structure, where she is expected to contribute to grassroots mobilisation, youth engagement, and initiatives aimed at advancing the interests and development of young people.
The Deputy Youth Organiser position is central to the party’s efforts to organise its youth base, strengthen branch-level structures, and encourage young people to participate actively in party activities and community development.
Djiegbor’s victory also adds to the emergence of women in the constituency’s youth leadership, following the election of Florence Sefakor Fumey as Other Youth Representative.
Fumey secured 193 votes to defeat Emmanuel Krah Daabo, who polled 70 votes.
Meanwhile, Osumanu Banito Lamptey retained the Constituency Youth Organiser position after polling 223 votes against his contender, Edem Akakpo, who received 44 votes.
The newly elected and retained youth leaders are expected to work together to strengthen the party’s grassroots presence and deepen engagement with young people across the constituency.
Their leadership will be particularly significant as the NDC prepares for the 2028 general elections, with youth mobilisation, employment, skills development, and sustained grassroots participation likely to remain important issues in the constituency.
For Djiegbor, the election marks a new chapter in her political journey and an opportunity to contribute to youth representation and organisation within the Anyaa-Sowutuom NDC.
