The Fix the Roads in Buluk Movement has commended the Member of Parliament for Builsa South, Clement Apaak, following the resumption of construction on the long-stalled Chuchuliga–Fumbisi road project.
The group described the contractor’s return to site as a direct outcome of sustained public advocacy and engagement with key stakeholders, marking a significant step toward addressing long-standing infrastructure concerns in the area.
In a statement, the Movement praised the collective efforts of government, the MP, and other stakeholders for reviving the critical road project, which had previously been abandoned.
“We express our sincere appreciation to the Government, the Honourable Member of Parliament, and all relevant stakeholders whose collective efforts have led to the contractor’s return to site,” the statement noted.
According to the group, the restart of the project reflects responsiveness to citizens’ concerns and highlights the effectiveness of consistent civic engagement in driving development.
The Movement also welcomed the contractor’s decision to adopt a phased execution strategy, covering key stretches from Chuchuliga to Sandema, Gbedema to Fumbisi, and Fumbisi to Wiesi. It said the approach is expected to improve efficiency and accelerate completion.
“We are particularly encouraged by the contractor’s innovative approach to executing the project in phases. This strategy is expected to enhance efficiency and accelerate progress,” the group stated.
Despite the optimism, the Movement stressed the need for strict adherence to quality standards and timelines to ensure the project delivers long-term value to residents. It added that monitoring efforts would continue until the road is fully completed.

“We urge the contractor to ensure that the highest standards of quality are maintained, while adhering strictly to the stipulated timelines,” it added.
The group further called on Dr. Apaak to prioritise the rehabilitation of other feeder roads in the district to improve mobility and boost economic activity across the Buluk area.
