Ghanaian content creator and media personality Kobby Kyei has taken the conversation about responsible content creation to a new level with the organisation of the Content with Purpose Summit, bringing together prominent personalities from the media and entertainment industry.
Held in partnership with the Embassy of France in Ghana on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at the Embassy of France in Accra, the summit focused on the theme, “Beyond the Clout: Creating Content That Informs, Influences and Impacts Responsibly.”
The gathering brought together established media personalities, journalists, broadcasters and content creators to discuss the growing influence of digital platforms and the need for creators to be more conscious of the content they publish.
The event featured an impressive list of speakers, including celebrated actress Nana Ama McBrown, broadcaster Nana Aba Anamoah, media personality Ameyaw Debrah, Frederick Mattey, sports journalist Saddick Adams, Dominique Tchimbakala, Kwame Dadzie and Dunstan Guba.
Other speakers were Dr. Bismark Odum-Sackey, Jay Foley and Dr. Noel Nutsugah.
A key message from the discussions was that social media influence should come with a sense of responsibility, especially as content creators continue to play an increasingly important role in shaping conversations and public opinion.
Nana Ama McBrown, one of the speakers, used her experience in the entertainment industry to remind creators that popularity alone should not define their success.
She urged those with large audiences to pay attention to the messages they send out, noting that having influence comes with the responsibility to make a positive difference.
McBrown encouraged upcoming content creators to look beyond views, likes and followers and focus on producing material that can educate, inspire and benefit society.
She also spoke about her enduring passion for acting, a profession she continues to hold close despite her growth and accomplishments in the media industry.
The summit addressed an issue that has become increasingly relevant in Ghana’s digital space, where the pressure to attract attention and remain popular sometimes takes precedence over the quality and value of content being produced.
For Kobby Kyei, bringing together some of the country’s respected voices provided an opportunity to examine this trend and encourage a different approach to content creation.
The choice of theme also reflected the need for creators to understand that their work can have an impact far beyond social media engagement. A single post, video or public statement can influence attitudes, shape perceptions and reach thousands of people.
The partnership with the Embassy of France added an international dimension to the gathering, providing a platform for conversations around media, communication and the role of digital creators in society.
With the Content with Purpose Summit, Kobby Kyei has brought an important discussion to the centre of Ghana’s creative industry, challenging content creators to consider not just how many people they reach, but what they leave behind through the content they produce.
