Ghana Air Force Helicopter Goes Missing En Route to Obuasi

A Helicopter belonging to the Ghana Air Force has gone missing after taking off from Accra on the morning of Tuesday, August 6, 2025.

The Z9 helicopter, which departed at 9:12 a.m. and was en route to Obuasi, reportedly went off radar during its flight. According to a statement issued by Captain Veronica Adzo Arhin, Acting Director General of Public Relations for the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), efforts are currently underway to establish contact with the aircraft.

On board the missing helicopter were three crew members and five passengers. The identities of those aboard have not yet been disclosed.

Military authorities say investigations and search efforts are ongoing, and further details will be communicated as they become available.
