Mexico confirms pre-World Cup friendlies
Mexico will begin its World Cup campaign against South Africa on June 11 at Azteca Stadium in Mexico City.

Mexico will complete its preparations for this year’s FIFA World Cup with friendlies against Ghana, Australia, and Serbia, officials said on Tuesday.
El Tri will host Ghana on May 22 before facing Australia in Pasadena, California, eight days later. Its final warmup fixture will be against Serbia at home on June 4. The venues for the games against Ghana and Serbia are yet to be confirmed.
“These will be high-intensity matches featuring ideal opponents to help prepare the national team for the World Cup,” Mexican Football Federation (FMF) president Ivar Sisniega told reporters.

The FMF previously confirmed friendlies against Iceland in Queretaro on February 25, Portugal in Mexico City on March 28 and Belgium in Chicago on March 31.
