Eminence Lead International, a NGO, has presented a Citation of Honour to the Executive Director of Human Rights Reporters Ghana (HRRG), Dr. Joseph Kobla Wemakor, in recognition of his role as Special Guest of Honour and Keynote Speaker at the Farmers Care Programme.

The honour was conferred on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, during a brief ceremony held at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra. The citation acknowledged Dr. Wemakor’s contribution to farmer empowerment and sustainable agriculture through knowledge-sharing on land rights and innovative agribusiness practices.

The presentation was made by Emmanuel Ofori, Project Officer for the Farmers Care Programme, who was accompanied by his colleague, Isaac Anane Asare, also a Project Officer with the organization.

Keynote Address and Recognition
Dr. Wemakor was recognized for his participation at the Farmers Care Programme workshop held on November 7, 2025, at the Yilo Krobo Mango Farmers Association (YKMFA) Conference Hall, Yilo Krobo Senior High School, in Somanya, Eastern Region.

The workshop, themed “Sustainable Agriculture Business Practices and Innovative Agric-Entrepreneurship for Robust Agriculture Development,” brought together over 300 farmers, agricultural stakeholders, financial institutions, and development partners for capacity building.

In his keynote address, Dr. Wemakor educated farmers on “Understanding Land Rights and Laws as a Farmer,” highlighting the importance of secure land tenure in promoting agricultural productivity and protecting livelihoods.

He encouraged farmers to properly document land transactions, register lands with the Lands Commission, engage qualified professionals, and join associations to safeguard their interests.

The citation described Dr. Wemakor’s presentation as “impactful and transformative,” commending his mastery of the subject, clear communication, humility, and dedication before, during, and after the workshop.

HRRG Partnership Recognized
The organization also acknowledged HRRG’s role as a key partner in the initiative, highlighting the institution’s continued impact on communities across Ghana and beyond.

Officials of Eminence Lead International reiterated their commitment to promoting sustainable agriculture, rural development, and food security through strategic interventions, capacity-building initiatives, and community-focused programmes.

Commitment to Farmers’ Empowerment
The Farmers Care Programme formed part of Eminence Lead International’s wider mission to empower farmers and strengthen Ghana’s agricultural value chain.

Organizers said recognizing leaders like Dr. Wemakor encourages continued advocacy for sustainable farming practices and rural development.
