Accra, New York, Paris, Lagos — Ghana’s fast-rising niche fragrance house, Maison Yusif, is set to introduce its latest scent, “The Beast,” to the global market this summer. The release will span key cities across the United States, Ghana, Paris, and Nigeria, marking another step in the brand’s growing international presence.
The fragrance, developed by master perfumer Yusif Jnr Meizongo, is rooted in a personal story shaped by loyalty, creativity, and meaningful connection. Its inspiration comes from Meizongo’s relationship with Mohamet Mbayi, widely known as SWAGGY Mo, whose honest and consistent reviews played a role in opening the brand to a wider global audience.
“The Beast” is positioned as a tribute to authenticity in an industry often influenced by trends. It reflects appreciation for genuine support and the power of organic growth.
Produced in Ghana, the fragrance blends oud with rich spicy and aromatic elements, resulting in a bold and layered composition. It aims to shift perceptions of oriental fragrances by offering a more refined and contemporary African interpretation. Its strong presence and detailed structure place it among emerging standout creations within the oud category.
Meizongo describes the scent as a reflection of strength, loyalty, and the unseen forces that contribute to success, emphasizing that it carries a deeper meaning beyond its composition.
The development of “The Beast” brought together key members of Maison Yusif’s team. Suweiba Shardow continues to play a significant role within the female olfaction division, contributing her expertise in crafting balanced accords and representing the brand internationally, including at a Dubai fragrance exhibition in 2024.
Abdul Rashid Yusif Meizongo contributed to the men’s olfaction division, sourcing rare materials that define the fragrance’s character. Kamran Muhammad, who joined the team in 2024, supported both the technical process as head lab technician and operations as manager of the Kokomlemle branch.
The name “The Beast” was first introduced by general manager Baidawi Shamhuna in 2023. Mahmud Yaro Yusif played a central role in refining the final packaging concept, ensuring it aligns with the strength and identity of the fragrance.
With anticipation steadily growing among fragrance enthusiasts, Maison Yusif is positioning “The Beast” as a key release that reflects both the brand’s evolution and the rising influence of African perfumery on the global stage.
As the launch approaches, industry watchers are paying close attention. Early expectations indicate that “The Beast” could emerge as one of the brand’s most defining releases yet.
