Ghanaian actor and filmmaker Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lil Win, has ruled out working with fellow actor Van Vicker again following a disagreement over an alleged last-minute withdrawal from a scheduled movie shoot.
Lil Win, speaking in a video shared on social media, accused Van Vicker of failing to honour arrangements for a movie production and repeatedly ignoring calls from his team ahead of the shoot.
The Kumawood actor said the development had forced him to draw the line, declaring that he would neither cast Van Vicker in his productions nor share a movie set with him in future.
“I would never cast you in a movie again. Even if there’s a movie and they are casting both of us, I wouldn’t shoot that movie. It’s either you cast the movie alone or I cast it alone. I wouldn’t want to work with you again. Enough is enough,” Lil Win stated.
He further accused Van Vicker of showing a lack of respect towards stakeholders in the Kumawood film industry, claiming attempts to reach him ahead of scheduled productions had repeatedly proved unsuccessful.
“You don’t respect the Kumawood industry. A day before we are scheduled to shoot a movie, when we call you, you don’t answer your calls. I have called you multiple times, but you don’t answer or return the calls to explain why you couldn’t come for the shoot,” he alleged.
Lil Win said the latest incident was not the first time Van Vicker had declined an opportunity to appear in one of his productions.
According to him, Van Vicker turned down an earlier approach, but he decided to offer him another opportunity out of respect and admiration for his work.
He claimed the second attempt had also fallen through and insisted he would not allow a similar situation to occur for a third time.
Lil Win said Ghana’s film industry has several talented actors capable of taking on roles in his productions, stressing that no individual was indispensable.
He also disclosed that Van Vicker had initially been included in the cast of an upcoming movie by his manager, Frank, but he had ordered that the actor’s name be removed following the latest disagreement.
“It would not happen for the third time. Frank had cast you in my upcoming movie, but I have taken your name out. I will never use you again because, for the work we are about to do, you are not bigger than anyone on the cast list,” Lil Win said.
Van Vicker had not responded to the allegations in the account provided.
