Ghanaian perfume house Maison Yusif Fragrance has secured the Innovative Luxury Fragrance Brand of the Year title for the third consecutive year at the recently concluded Ghana Industries and Manufacturing Awards.
The achievement marks a significant moment for the brand, bringing renewed attention to Ghanaian craftsmanship within the luxury fragrance industry. It also extends a run of recognition for a business that has made its Ghanaian identity central to its creative direction.
Established in 2017 by perfumer Yusif Meizongo Jnr, Maison Yusif has built its approach around artisan production. Its fragrances are composed, blended and assembled by hand in Accra, combining internationally sourced materials with inspiration drawn from Ghana’s culture and heritage. The house continues to place this hands-on process at the centre of its brand story.
That philosophy runs through a collection that includes Bad Influence, Deeper Than Words and Another Face of Oud Elixir. Each contributes to the house’s exploration of scent as an expression of personality, emotion and memory.
Recognition at a manufacturing awards ceremony also draws attention to the work behind the finished bottle. Maison Yusif brings fragrance development and production together in Ghana, presenting perfumery as an avenue for local creativity to become a distinctive commercial product.
The brand’s reach extends beyond its home market. Its fragrance The Apex is available through Flying Solo in New York, where its Ghanaian origin forms part of the product’s identity. This international retail presence gives audiences abroad an opportunity to encounter contemporary perfumery created in Accra.
The third consecutive award adds another milestone to Maison Yusif’s journey, placing the spotlight on a homegrown fragrance house whose ambitions extend internationally while its craft remains rooted in Ghana.
