MTN Ghana has climaxed its 30th-anniversary celebrations with the final draw and presentation of prizes under its MTN@30 Mega Promo, rewarding loyal customers with brand-new Toyota Land Cruiser vehicles and cash prizes worth thousands of Ghana cedis.
The final draw saw four customers emerge as top winners, with three taking home brand-new Toyota Land Cruisers and one receiving a cash prize of GH¢30,000.
Bright Twumasi Ankrah from Zone 2 received GH¢30,000, while Benedicta Obeng Asare from Zone 1, Samuel Obeng from Zone 2, and Medintey So-Otey from Zone 3 each won a Toyota Land Cruiser.
The prizes marked the culmination of a three-month promotional campaign launched in June 2026 as part of activities to commemorate MTN Ghana’s 30 years of operations in the country.
Speaking at the final prize presentation ceremony, Senior Manager for Consumer Marketing at MTN Ghana, Ms. Sandra Oduro Antwi, said the promotion was designed to express the company’s appreciation to customers whose loyalty and continued patronage had supported its growth over the past three decades.
“This year is MTN@30, and we thought we need to celebrate with our cherished customers. They have stood with us for the past 30 years. This is our birthday, but we said let’s give back to our customers,” she said.
Ms. Antwi explained that the promotion was structured to make participation easy and accessible, allowing customers to earn points through their everyday use of MTN services rather than requiring them to undertake additional activities.
“We didn’t want customers to jump up and down and do anything extraordinary. Whoever you are, wherever you are in your daily life whether you want to communicate, browse, stay on social media, or send mobile money to friends and loved ones just do that. As you do that, you accumulate points,” she said.
Under the promotion, customers earned points through regular usage of MTN services, including voice calls, data bundles and Mobile Money (MoMo) transactions. The points accumulated determined their eligibility for monthly rewards, with top-performing customers winning prizes throughout the campaign.
The promotion ran from June to August 2026, attracting customer participation across the company’s three designated zones. It formed part of MTN Ghana’s broader anniversary activities aimed at rewarding customer loyalty and strengthening its relationship with subscribers.
In total, MTN Ghana awarded nine brand-new Toyota Land Cruiser vehicles and rewarded more than 30,000 customers with cash prizes ranging from GH¢30 to GH¢30,000.
Ms. Antwi noted that the initiative was intended to benefit a broad cross-section of the company’s customer base, ensuring that the anniversary celebrations were not limited to a few major winners but extended to thousands of subscribers.
She emphasised that the value of each prize was secondary to the company’s intention to recognise and appreciate its customers.
“Whether you won GH¢10,000, GH¢5,000, or a Land Cruiser, we want you to enjoy it. We didn’t ask customers to do anything out of the ordinary,” she said.
To strengthen confidence in the promotion, MTN Ghana partnered with audit firm KPMG to oversee the process and ensure transparency and fairness in selecting winners. Ms. Antwi said the involvement of an independent audit firm was particularly important given the company’s extensive customer base and the scale of the campaign.
She added that the Mega Promo was only one of several initiatives planned as part of the company’s 30th-anniversary celebrations, indicating that MTN Ghana’s commitment to rewarding customers and contributing to national development would extend beyond the promotion.
“This is not the only thing we are doing for our birthday; there are many other initiatives to reward customers and give back to the nation,” she said.
The MTN@30 Mega Promo forms part of MTN Ghana’s efforts to mark three decades in the country’s telecommunications industry by recognising the role customers have played in its journey. Through the campaign, the company combined its anniversary celebrations with incentives for customers to continue using its voice, data and digital financial services.
The final draw brings the three-month promotion to a close, with thousands of customers receiving cash rewards and nine winners taking home Toyota Land Cruisers in a campaign that underscored MTN Ghana’s message of appreciation for its customers.
