Mr Kwesi Arhin has been retained as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Constituency Chairman for Anyaa-Sowutuom following the party’s internal elections held on Saturday, October 24, 2026.
In a post-election message of gratitude and reconciliation, Mr. Arhin expressed appreciation to delegates, branch executives, constituency executives, party faithful, and supporters for renewing their confidence in his leadership.
He described the renewed mandate as a responsibility he did not take for granted and pledged to serve with humility, dedication, and a commitment to the progress of the constituency.
Mr Arhin extended an olive branch to his opponents and their supporters, urging them to put aside their differences and work together in the interest of the party.
“The contest is over, but our shared responsibility to the NDC and Anyaa-Sowutuom continues,” he said, emphasising that the internal elections should not be allowed to create lasting divisions within the party.
He said the future of the constituency depended on the collective efforts of all members, irrespective of the candidates they supported during the elections.
Mr Arhin stressed that his victory should not be regarded as a triumph for one faction over another but as an opportunity to strengthen party unity, promote reconciliation, and build a more inclusive constituency leadership.
He pledged to listen to diverse opinions, build bridges among members, and ensure that every party member felt valued and included in the constituency’s affairs.
“No position is worth dividing our party, and no personal differences should stand in the way of our collective progress,” he said.
The retained chairman called for a shift from rivalry to cooperation, suspicion to trust, and division to solidarity, noting that the party needed the contributions of all its members to achieve its objectives.
He said the immediate task was to rebuild relationships, strengthen internal structures, and refocus attention on the broader interests of the NDC and the people of Anyaa-Sowutuom.
“The time for campaigning is over; the time for rebuilding relationships, strengthening our unity, and working together has begun,” he stated.
Mr Arhin urged party members to place collective interests above personal ambitions and work towards a common vision for a stronger and more united constituency.
He expressed confidence that peace, mutual respect, and cooperation would enable the constituency to make meaningful progress.
He concluded by invoking God’s blessings on the NDC family in Anyaa-Sowutuom and calling for a united front in pursuit of the party’s shared goals.
His message was anchored in the slogan: “One Constituency. One Party. One Family. One Common Goal.”
