Traditional Leaders Call for Accelerated Development in Atwima Nwabiagya South
Traditional leaders and local authorities urge government and residents to collaborate on road construction, infrastructure, and development initiatives to boost economic activities and improve living standards in Atwima Nwabiagya South Municipality.

Traditional leaders in the Atwima Nwabiagya South Municipality of the Ashanti Region have called on the government to prioritise development projects, particularly in the areas of road construction and infrastructure improvement.
The appeal was made during the 69th Independence Day celebrations held at Asomaso, which brought together traditional authorities, assembly members, schoolchildren, and residents to commemorate Ghana’s independence.
Nana Owusu Appau, Bantama-hene Gyaasehene and Chief of Abuakwa–Asomaso, speaking during the occasion, commended the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Wisdom Osei Boamah, for his performance since taking office.
He, however, emphasised that the central government must provide additional support to accelerate development in the municipality.

According to Nana Owusu Appau, upgrading road networks and expanding infrastructure will not only stimulate economic activities but also improve the quality of life for residents.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Wisdom Osei Boamah, encouraged residents to back government efforts to speed up development. He highlighted that teamwork between the assembly, traditional leaders, and locals is key to ensuring sustainable growth in the municipality.
Hon. Shirley Kyei, Member of Parliament for Atwima Nwabiagya South, joined the MCE in celebrating the 69th Independence Day, showing unity and emphasizing the need to rise above party lines for the sake of development.
Hon. Shirley Kyei encouraged residents to actively participate in development initiatives across the municipality and cited her cooperation with the MCE as an example of bipartisan collaboration.
Despite representing different political parties (NPP and NDC), they have worked together to advance the development agenda of Atwima Nwabiagya South Municipality.

She further assured constituents of upcoming development projects in the municipality, reinforcing the commitment to growth and progress in the area.
The Independence Day celebration concluded with a vibrant gathering of traditional authorities, assembly members, schoolchildren, and residents, reflecting the municipality’s commitment to unity, development, and national pride.
