Founder of the Dzidula Pink Foundation and cancer survivor Madam Fafa Gozo has emerged as a multiple award winner at the 2026 Triumph Women Awards, receiving two major honours for her advocacy and work supporting people living with cancer.
Gozo was honoured with the Triumph She Hero of the Year and Triumph Woman Advocate of the Year awards at the third edition of the Triumph Women Awards held at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra on Sunday, September 27, 2026.
The awards were presented under the theme “Her Blueprint, Her Legacy” in recognition of women making notable contributions to society through leadership, advocacy, professional excellence, entrepreneurship, philanthropy, and community development.
Reacting to the recognition, Gozo expressed gratitude for the honours.
“I feel humbled, I feel honoured and I am very grateful,” she said.
For the cancer survivor, however, the awards represent more than personal recognition. They reflect a journey in which her own experience with cancer has been transformed into a mission to provide hope and support to others facing the disease.
“I am the founder of the Dzidula Pink Foundation. The Dzidula Pink Foundation is a cancer foundation. What we do is we do a lot of advocacy and education, and we support cancer patients financially,” she said.
She explained that her commitment to the cause is deeply personal because she has experienced the realities of cancer herself.
“And this is very personal to me because it is a lived experience. I have been there and I know what it takes to fight cancer and win,” she said.
It was from that experience, she noted, that the foundation was born.
“So out of pain, purpose was born, and that is how come the Dzidula Pink Foundation came about,” Fafa hinted.
She was among a distinguished group of women recognised at the 2026 Triumph Women Awards for their contributions to various sectors and areas of social impact.
Among the other recipients were Rev. Dr. Joyce Aryee, who received the Triumph Lifetime Legacy of the Year award; Prof. Elsie Effah Kaufmann, honoured as Triumph STEM Excellence & Legacy of the Year; Anita Erskine, who was recognised as Triumph Global Impact Icon of the Year; Mrs. Mary Anane Awuku, named Triumph Woman of the Year; and Samira Abdul-Azeez, Esq., who received the Triumph Phenomenal Heroine of the Year award.
Other competitive award recipients included Roberta Maanaa Quaye, who was honoured as Triumph Health Icon of the Year; Philomina Afi Antonio, Triumph Philanthropic Icon of the Year; Leticia Enyonam Sateklah, Triumph Mental Health Advocate of the Year; Roissa Darko, Triumph Community Development Icon of the Year; and Dr. Maame Efua Gyasiwaa Abraham, who received both the Triumph Change Maker of the Year and Triumph Social Impact Icon of the Year awards.
The wide range of award categories reflected the different ways women are contributing to leadership, health, advocacy, entrepreneurship, media, community development, philanthropy, and other areas of national life.
