AFRAVEX 2026: Where African Festivals Meet the World
xpo to Showcase Cultural Innovations, Festival Technologies, and Investment Opportunities

The TERIA Foundation, in partnership with Human Rights Reporters Ghana (HRRG), has announced the launch of the African Festivals Summit & Expo (AFRAVEX)—Africa’s first continental platform dedicated to uniting festival organizers, cultural institutions, tourism boards, creatives, policymakers, and Diaspora communities across the continent.
The inaugural event is scheduled to take place in May 2026 in Accra, as part of the celebrations leading up to African Union Day.
AFRAVEX aims to explore the transformative role of festivals as drivers of cultural preservation, economic growth, and global connection, while providing a platform to showcase Africa’s rich creative and cultural heritage.
Operating under the theme, “Celebrating Africa and its Diaspora: Connecting the World through Festivals,” the summit seeks to foster collaboration, innovation, and knowledge sharing across the continent’s festival ecosystem.
The summit is designed to facilitate the exchange of best practices among festival organizers, promote tourism, culture, and the creative economy, and highlight cultural and creative innovations through a vibrant expo marketplace.
AFRAVEX will also support partnerships that strengthen festival funding, management, sustainability, and international visibility, while building a network to reinforce Africa’s growing festival landscape.
The event is expected to attract festival directors, cultural and creative industry leaders, tourism boards, arts councils, government ministries, Diaspora organizations, NGOs, media agencies, and exhibitors, creating a collaborative environment for cross-sector engagement.
Organizations and partners interested in supporting or exhibiting at AFRAVEX can contact the organizers via +233 244 759 002 / +233 207 046 422 or email teriafoundation1@gmail.com and info@teriafoundation.org.
The TERIA Foundation is a non-profit organization committed to advancing early childhood development, culture, tourism, and community empowerment through sustainable initiatives and strategic partnerships.
Human Rights Reporters Ghana (HRRG), AFRAVEX’s partner, supports community-driven projects across Ghana and Africa, helping amplify initiatives like AFRAVEX and strengthen collaboration within the cultural and creative sectors.
AFRAVEX 2026 promises to be a landmark event for Africa’s festival and cultural sectors, connecting organizers from across the continent with Diaspora communities, and demonstrating how festivals can serve as powerful tools for economic, cultural, and social transformation.
