Broadcast journalist and media personality Agnes Oteng, widely known in media circles as Akua Oteng Amponsah, has officially joined Tobinco Media Group’s Bullet TV after several years with EIB Network.
The young broadcaster, who is currently a Level 300 Development Communication student at the University of Media, Arts and Communication (UniMAC), continues to build a growing reputation in Ghana’s media industry through consistency, resilience, eloquence and a passion for impactful storytelling.
Passion for Journalism Started Early
Her professional media career began in 2021 when she joined EIB Network as an intern.
Whiles with EIB Network, the dynamic broadcaster played various roles at Kasapa FM, GHOne TV and Starr FM with the primary aim of learning the profession. She quickly impressed her superiors and become a regular voice on major news bulletins on Kasapa FM.
Rise Through the Ranks at EIB Network
Through hard work and dedication, Akua Oteng quickly transitioned from internship duties to on-air responsibilities.
She initially earned the opportunity to present business news before expanding into mainstream news presentation, production and content creation.
During her time at EIB Network, she combined on-air work with behind-the-scenes responsibilities, contributing significantly to editorial and production operations.
According to her, the experience played a key role in building her confidence, sharpening her practical skills and helping her establish valuable professional connections within the media industry.
Experience Beyond Broadcasting
Outside mainstream broadcasting, Akua Oteng also gained experience in several other professional environments that contributed to her personal and career development.
Following senior high school, she worked as a secretary at Flux Iron Gallery, a business owned by her late elder brother, where she spent approximately one and a half years.
She also worked with an advertising agency, Goodies Radio Online and other media-related platforms while continuing her academic journey.
School Project Became Turning Point
The defining moments in her journey came through a communication project she undertook during her studies.
After the project was shared on social media by her rector, it attracted attention from industry players and eventually led to job offers from two media organisations.
She ultimately chose EIB Network because she believed the company would provide the best environment for learning and growth.
