Apostle Collins Obeng-Agyare, President of the Christian Leadership Net-Work (CLN), has made a humble and sincere appeal for peace, reconciliation, in the Kristo Asafo family following disagreement that ensued after the death of Apostle Dr. Kwadjo Safo.
In an interview with The media, he said the legacy of Apostle Safo should unite rather than divide the family and the church.
“Let the Legacy of Apostle Kwadwo Safo should unite, rather than divide the family and by inference the church. ”
He said the unityof the family and the church is the greatest honour the children can do the memory of their father.
He said late Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo stood for unity as was demonstrated in the long reigning peace in the Kristo Asafo Mission.
“For the sake of Jesus Christ, the integrity of Christendom, and the peace and harmony of Ghana, CLN believes reconciliation must be given a chance.”
According to Apostle Collins Obeng-Agyare, “This should not simply be about who wins or loses. We must know that what protects the legacy of Apostle Kwadwo Safo, preserves the dignity and unity of his family, and promotes peace.”
The name “Kristo Asafo” carries a Christian identity—an army or company of Christ. Whatever public opinions or interpretations may exist, he stated, CLN prays that Christ, forgiveness, humility, love, and reconciliation will remain at the center of efforts to resolve the disagreements.
“CLN respectfully calls upon the Christian Council of Ghana, the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), other Christian organizations, senior clergy, traditional authorities, family elders, statesmen and stateswomen, and other respected stakeholders to lend their voices and influence to this call for peace,” he emphasized.
He particularly appealed to Hon. Sarah Adwoa Safo and Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena, together with other members of the Kwadwo Safo family and the leadership of Kristo Asafo Mission, to consider dialogue and reconciliation.
“Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo spent decades building a family legacy, an institution, promoting African ingenuity, and establishing a movement known in Ghana and beyond. Let us put aside personal differences and egos for the sake of that greater legacy,” he appealed, quoting, Matthew 5:9:
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.”
He clarified that, CLN is not seeking to determine who is right or wrong, neither does it seeks to interfere with legitimate legal processes, or take sides.
“Our interest is peace. CLN is prepared, where acceptable to all concerned, to provide a neutral platform for dialogue, mediation, prayer, and reconciliation in partnership with other Christian bodies and stakeholders,” he said.
To the family, he declared that, “Your father’s legacy is bigger than this disagreement. Let reconciliation prevail over division, dialogue over confrontation, forgiveness over bitterness, and legacy over ego.
“For the sake of the family, Kristo Asafo Mission, Christendom, and the peace and harmony of Ghana—LET PEACE PREVAIL”
