The Center of Awareness Global Peace Mission has unveiled Real Intelligence (RI), a concept aimed at harnessing human consciousness and inherent intelligence to advance sustainable global peace and human development.
The initiative seeks to complement Artificial Intelligence (AI) by exploring the inherent capabilities of human beings and how they could be applied to addressing some of the world’s most pressing challenges.
Delivering a presentation at the launching ceremony of Real Intelligence in Accra, the President-General of the Center, Prof. Samuel Ato Duncan, said the initiative was the culmination of a 38-year journey devoted to exploring human consciousness, peace and the potential of human intelligence.
Prof. Duncan called on President John Dramani Mahama and other world leaders to support scientific and technological research into RI to establish its practical applications and determine how the concept could contribute to global development.
According to him, the journey began in 1988 when, at the age of 22, he started seeking answers to fundamental questions about humanity, particularly why sustainable peace had remained elusive despite decades of global efforts.
Years of study, prayer, fasting and meditation, he explained, eventually shaped the development of Real Intelligence and his broader vision for sustainable global peace.
The work culminated in the development of a blueprint for sustainable global peace in 2024, with RI now being introduced as a tool to advance that vision.
The President-General maintained that persistent wars, conflicts and other threats to human security demonstrated the need for the international community to explore additional approaches to achieving lasting peace.
Peace, he stressed, goes beyond the absence of war and must be anchored in values such as love, truth and respect for human life.
RI Must Complement AI
Turning to the rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence, Prof. Duncan acknowledged its potential but cautioned against excessive dependence on technology.
“We need Artificial Intelligence sometimes, but we should not be over-dependent on Artificial Intelligence. The real intelligence is the way to go,” he said.
The peace advocate explained that while AI relies largely on data, algorithms and technological systems to perform tasks, RI, as he defines it, focuses on the inherent consciousness and capabilities of human beings.
According to Prof. Duncan, RI exists within every person and is rooted in what he described as the soul or inner consciousness.
He emphasised that the concept was not intended to reject AI but rather to encourage greater exploration and development of human intelligence alongside technological advancement.
Prof. Duncan also pointed to the limitations of artificial systems in controlling natural phenomena such as rainfall, storms and earthquakes, maintaining that humanity still has much to learn about the complex systems governing nature.
Further scientific investigation, the President-General noted, would therefore be required to establish whether RI could be translated into practical technologies and solutions for peacebuilding, human development and innovation.
Creative Energy and Human Consciousness
The presentation also explored fundamental questions about human existence, including the origin, purpose and future of humanity.
“If you don’t know where you are coming from, definitely you wouldn’t know where you are going,” Prof. Duncan said.
As part of his explanation of RI, he introduced what he termed “Creative Energy,” which he described as the source of consciousness and the foundation of the universe.
The President-General said he preferred the term Creative Energy because of the varying religious and cultural interpretations associated with God.
“I’m talking about a creative energy that created the universe and created every spirit, and created everything,” he stated.
Prof. Duncan maintained that consciousness originated from this Creative Energy and identified love, truth and peace as fundamental principles associated with the concept.
Understanding those principles and placing greater value on human life, according to him, could provide a stronger foundation for peaceful coexistence.
Universal Systematic Intelligence Structure
Prof. Duncan further introduced what he termed the “Universal Systematic Intelligence Structure,” describing it as an underlying system responsible for order and processes within nature and the universe.
Drawing on galaxies, solar systems and planets, the peace advocate maintained that the universe operates through complex systems and natural laws that humanity has yet to fully understand.
He also cited the uniqueness of human biological characteristics, including fingerprints and the eyes, to illustrate what he described as the highly organised nature of human existence.
The President-General noted that many technological innovations draw inspiration from or imitate principles already found in nature, reinforcing the need for scientists and researchers to investigate human capabilities alongside advances in AI.
In his view, persistent global challenges could require the discovery and application of new knowledge capable of addressing their underlying causes.
“To every problem, there is a solution, and where a problem cannot be solved, it means the requisite knowledge out of which the solution could be drawn has not yet been applied,” he said.
Call for Global Research and Investment
Prof. Duncan appealed to governments, universities, scientists, technology experts and research institutions to undertake further scientific investigation into Real Intelligence and explore its potential applications.
“I made a passionate call to the President of Ghana, not only the President, but all presidents in the world,” Prof. Duncan said.
“When it comes to the technology, that is where we need the President to help us develop the technologies and to do further research into this particular area,” the President-General added.
Rather than allowing AI to overshadow human capabilities, Prof. Duncan proposed that RI and AI should be developed alongside each other, with technological innovation complementing human intelligence and consciousness.
Greater collaboration among governments, scientists, researchers and technology institutions, he emphasised, would be critical in determining whether the ideas underpinning RI could be developed into practical solutions for peace and human development.
Concern Over Dependence on Internet Infrastructure
The President-General also raised concerns about growing global dependence on internet infrastructure, warning that a major disruption to digital systems could have far-reaching consequences for economies, businesses, communication and other essential activities.
Prof. Duncan noted that increasing reliance on interconnected digital systems underscored the need to explore alternative approaches and strengthen resilience against technological vulnerabilities.
According to him, further research into RI could explore new approaches to such vulnerabilities and alternative solutions, although scientific and technological investigation would be necessary to establish the concept’s practical potential.
The peace advocate consequently called for collaboration among governments, scientists, researchers and other stakeholders to determine the potential applications of Real Intelligence in global peace, technological development and human advancement.

The Paramount Chief of the Oguaa Traditional Area, His Royal Majesty Osabarima Kwesi Atta II, who attended the ceremony, lauded Prof. Duncan for his longstanding commitment to peace and the development of the Real Intelligence initiative.
Osabarima Kwesi Atta II pledged his unflinching commitment to supporting the President-General and the Center of Awareness Global Peace Mission in their efforts to advance the initiative and promote sustainable peace.
The Oguaa Paramount Chief also called for broader stakeholder support for initiatives aimed at strengthening peace and human development, stressing the importance of collective action in building a more peaceful society.
