The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a four-day planned maintenance exercise that will temporarily disrupt power supply to several communities within its Accra East operational region.
The exercise is scheduled to run from Monday, August 10, to Thursday, August 13, 2026, with affected customers expected to experience power interruptions between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on the respective days.
In a statement issued on Saturday, August 8, ECG explained that the temporary outages are necessary to enable its engineers to undertake planned maintenance works aimed at improving the reliability and quality of electricity supply to customers.
The company has therefore urged residents and businesses within the affected communities to take note of the schedule and make the necessary arrangements during the maintenance period.
Monday, August 10
Maintenance works will begin on Monday, August 10, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Communities expected to be affected include Teiman, Oyarifa, Mr Smith, parts of Ogbodjo, Tsmasiwaa Hospital, Ability and surrounding areas.
Tuesday, August 11
On Tuesday, August 11, the exercise will continue between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Affected areas include Ashiyie, parts of Dodowa, Tobinco, Oasis Estate, Manet Junction and surrounding communities.
Wednesday, August 12
The third phase of the maintenance exercise will take place on Wednesday, August 12, also between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Areas expected to experience temporary power interruptions include parts of Labone, Agbogba Zongo, Adenta SDA, Tot-to-Teen School, Top Herbal Clinic, parts of Madina, Libya Quarters and surrounding areas.

Thursday, August 13
The four-day exercise will conclude on Thursday, August 13, with Achimota School and surrounding areas expected to experience power interruptions from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
ECG said the temporary interruptions are necessary to allow its technical teams to safely carry out the maintenance works.
The company has appealed to customers in the affected areas to bear with the inconvenience as it works to improve electricity service delivery.
